DIGIKART

Digikart or Fydl: the honest comparison

Fydl is the competitor most like us, and we might as well say it straight away: their free plan is serious. A card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, the business logo, unlimited customers, unlimited locations, two team members, one reward, with no time limit. After that, two paths with them: turn on options at €0.08 excl. VAT per day from a prepaid balance you top up, or take the ILLIMITÉ (unlimited) subscription at €22 excl. VAT per month with no commitment. One point not to miss before comparing the figures: Fydl shows its prices excluding VAT, while we show ours as the final price. Their €22 excl. VAT is €26.40 incl. VAT. Pricing recorded on fydl-app.com on 16 September 2026, to be checked on their site before any decision.

Our honest reading

Let us start with what is alike, because it is the essential part. Fydl and Digikart both make a real card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with no app for the customer to install, with a free plan with no limit on customers or time. Fydl announces more than 6,000 businesses on its homepage. This is not a competitor in name only, and their free plan goes further than ours on two specific points: the business logo is included, whereas we keep it for the Plus plan, and locations are unlimited, whereas we keep them for the Pro plan. A merchant with two locations who wants to stay at zero euros will be better served with them.

Their second strength is the pay-by-the-day model. At Fydl, you top up a prepaid balance and pay €0.08 excl. VAT per day for notifications, the same for referral, the same for each extra reward. You switch off whenever you want and the charge stops the next day. For a business that only communicates at Christmas and on Mother's Day, it is unbeatable: two weeks of notifications cost about €1.12 excl. VAT. Our notifications start on the Plus plan, €17 per month for 3 sends, and are only unlimited in the Pro plan at €49 per month, with the rest of Pro around them. If you only want notifications, our plans are expensive and theirs is not. They also do two things we do not do at all: SMS campaigns, including automatic win-back of dormant customers and a birthday message by SMS, and the prize wheel for Google reviews.

Where we stay ahead is on clarity and on the card itself. Our prices are final prices, that is the amount actually charged: our Plus plan at €17 per month compares with their ILLIMITÉ subscription at €26.40 incl. VAT, and with us there is no prepaid balance to top up, no option to keep an eye on, and no charge that appears because a campaign stayed live three weeks too long. The Digikart card can be customised in any colours from the free plan, whereas Fydl imposes preset colours until you subscribe. The Plus plan adds the large-format card on iPhone with iOS 27, with two buttons under the card, which we have not seen with them. On counting points, however, it is a tie: with them as with us, you choose between one point per visit and one point per euro paid, from the free plan.

So here is when Fydl is the best choice, and we would rather write it. If you have several shops and your budget is zero euros, take Fydl. If you want to send SMS, take Fydl, we do not do it. If you only want to pay for notifications on the days you use them, their prepaid balance is smarter than our subscription. If referral between customers is at the heart of your strategy, it is with them. And if you want to connect your Zelty or Shop Caisse till so that the amount paid turns into points on its own, their subscription at €26.40 incl. VAT includes it with no installation fee announced, whereas we charge €49 per month plus €149 for installation: go with them. Digikart becomes the best choice in the other scenario: you have one or two locations, you want a card in your colours straight away and for free, a final price you can read in one second, and, if you move to Pro at €49, the proximity notification, detailed analytics with CSV export and a till connection that we install for you (€149, once).

Frequently asked questions

Is Fydl's free plan better than Digikart's?

On two points, yes, and we are not going to claim otherwise. Fydl includes your logo on the card and unlimited locations from the free plan, whereas we keep the logo for the Plus plan and multiple shops for the Pro plan. On another point, no: our free card can be customised in your business's colours, whereas Fydl imposes preset colours until you subscribe. On the rest, the two free plans are on a par: unlimited customers, one reward, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and the choice between one point per visit and one point per euro paid. Look at which of these three points matters to you, the answer changes from one business to another.

When should you choose Fydl rather than Digikart?

Four cases, and they are clear. If you run several shops without wanting to pay, their free plan covers them all. If you want SMS, we do not send them and they do, with 30 free SMS per month in their subscription then €0.05 per SMS to France. If you only communicate three weeks a year, their billing at €0.08 excl. VAT per day will always cost less than our Plus plan, and all the more so than our Pro plan. And if you want to connect a Zelty or Shop Caisse till, it is included in their subscription at €26.40 incl. VAT, whereas we charge €49 per month plus €149 for installation. In these four cases, go with them, we will not do better.

Does the Fydl subscription work out cheaper than Digikart's Pro plan?

Yes, for a different scope. Their ILLIMITÉ subscription costs €22 excl. VAT per month with no commitment, i.e. €26.40 incl. VAT, or €259.20 incl. VAT over a year with an annual commitment, against €490 per year for our Pro plan. But our Plus plan, at €170 per year, is the direct comparison on the card side, and it is cheaper than their subscription. Pro is worth it if you want the proximity notification and detailed CSV export, which we did not find with them. On the till connection and automatic win-back of inactive customers, Fydl is cheaper than us: both are included in their subscription at €26.40 incl. VAT, whereas our Pro is €49 and the till installation is billed €149 once.
