DIGIKART

Digikart or Earnly: the honest comparison

Earnly is a French loyalty platform, launched in December 2024 according to their About page. You will come across them often when searching: they publish a page per trade, a page per city and their own market comparisons. Their offer, on the other hand, fits in one line, and that is to their credit: a single plan, €59.90 excl. VAT per month per location, with the price shown publicly, and a €100 setup fee announced on their pricing page but shown as “Free” on 16 September 2026. Two points to settle before comparing the figures. VAT first: Earnly shows its prices excluding VAT, while we show ours as the final price, so their €59.90 is actually €71.88 incl. VAT. Then the card: with them, the customer signs up by scanning a QR code, or without taking out their phone if the merchant enters their email at the counter, then opens their card in their browser and can add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, while reminders go through the Earnly app, which the customer installs if they are willing. With us, the card is in the Wallet from the start and the notification arrives on it, with no app. Pricing recorded on earnly.fr on 16 September 2026, to be checked on their site before any decision.

Our honest reading

Let us start with the figure that often decides on its own. For a single-location business, the first year at Earnly costs €599 excl. VAT on the annual plan, i.e. €718.80 incl. VAT, or €718.80 excl. VAT with monthly payment, i.e. €862.56 incl. VAT. Our Pro plan, which is our most complete offer, is €490 per year, and our free plan is €0. The gap widens from the second shop, because Earnly charges per location: €59.90 excl. VAT for the first, €40 for the second, €35 for the third, i.e. €134.90 excl. VAT per month for three locations, that is €161.88 incl. VAT. Our Pro plan counts locations with no limit and no extra charge, for €49 in total.

That does not mean Earnly is expensive for nothing. Their offer does things ours does not, and it should be said clearly. First there is their consumer app and their interactive map: your business appears there, and someone who already uses Earnly at another merchant can discover you there. We have nothing like it. Then there are the game mechanics, levels, badges and boosted off-peak hours, followed by automatic threshold-based segmentation and team management with nineteen adjustable permissions. Finally there is the support: a demo, a guided onboarding and launch emails, whereas with us you create your account on your own on a Sunday evening.

So here is when Earnly is the best choice, and we would rather write it here. If you expect loyalty to also bring you customers you do not know yet, their app and their interactive map meet that need and we have no equivalent. If your customers are willing to install an app to keep all their cards in one place, their push channel holds up and gives you a direct link with them. If you want levels, badges and boosted off-peak hours, they have them. And if you would rather be shown the tool before getting out your bank card, their demo is made for that.

Our bet lies elsewhere and fits in one sentence: the card is in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so the notification arrives on the lock screen without installing anything. At Earnly, reminders go through their app: a customer who does not install it keeps their card in their browser, but falls outside the reach of notifications. Their anti-spam rule also limits promotional messages to three per customer per month, whereas our Pro plan imposes no quota, which is a freedom if you exercise restraint and a risk if you do not. One last difference, the most concrete when starting out: they have no free version and own it on a whole page, while we have one that does not expire and asks for no bank card. For a merchant who is not sure digital loyalty will catch on in their shop, that difference weighs more than a few euros a month.

Frequently asked questions

Is Earnly more expensive than Digikart?

Yes on the listed price, and part of the gap comes from VAT. Their €59.90 is excluding VAT, i.e. €71.88 incl. VAT per month per location, against €49 for our Pro plan, which covers all your shops. On the annual plan, they come down to €599 excl. VAT, i.e. €718.80 incl. VAT, against €490 with us. But two prices cannot be compared without comparing two scopes: their offer includes a consumer app, an interactive map and game mechanics that we do not offer.

When should you choose Earnly rather than Digikart?

When you expect the programme to also bring you customers you do not know. Their consumer app and their interactive map make your business visible to people who already use Earnly elsewhere, and we have nothing equivalent. It is also the right choice if you want levels, badges and boosted off-peak hours, or if you would rather have a salesperson show you the tool and set it up with you before paying.

Will my customers have to install an app?

Not to sign up, neither with them nor with us. At Earnly, the customer scans the QR code, or gives their email to the merchant who enters it at the counter, and their card opens in their browser; their site specifies that they can then add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. On this point they go further than we do: their second sign-up method does not require the customer to take out their phone, whereas with us sign-up always goes through their screen. On the other hand, to receive your reminders as notifications, they have to install the Earnly app, which Earnly presents as optional. With us, the card goes into the Wallet at sign-up and the notification arrives on it, without installing anything.
