The Google Wallet card, from the customer's side

Your customer's journey on Android: scanning the QR, creating the free card, adding it to Google Wallet, and the web card if Wallet is missing.

1. The customer scans the QR with their camera

On Android, the camera or Google Lens recognises the counter QR. No Digikart app to install, no account to create. The customer taps the detected link to open the page.

2. Your business's page opens in the browser

The page shows your business name, your colours and the details of the rewards to be earned. The customer knows straight away why this card is worth it. The page states: no app to install, 100% free for you.

3. They fill in their details, all optional

The “Your first name (optional)” field personalises the card. The “Your phone number (optional)” field will serve to identify them at the till without taking out their card, never for advertising. A “Your date of birth (optional)” field appears if you have turned on the birthday reward (Pro plan).

4. They tap “Create my free card”

The “Create my free card” button generates the card instantly. If you have set up a welcome bonus, it is already credited. The customer arrives at the installation screen.

5. They add the card to Google Wallet

The “Add the card to your phone” screen offers the “Add to Google Wallet” button. Google Wallet opens with the card preview, which the customer saves in one gesture. The card joins their other cards and tickets.

6. No Google Wallet? The web card takes over

If the phone has no Google Wallet, nothing is blocked: the card stays viewable in the browser, as a web version. Scanning the counter QR again is enough to find it, with stamps or points up to date. The customer can also bookmark the page or add it to their home screen from the browser menu.

7. On every visit, they show their card

At payment time, the customer shows their Google Wallet card or their web card, then you confirm their visit with a scan using the Digikart iPhone app or the web area at digikart.fr/app. Their card updates automatically.

One extra tip

Google Wallet comes preinstalled on most recent Androids and is free on the Play Store. But do not make it a condition: with the Pro plan's connected till, a customer identified by their phone number at checkout can build up visits without ever taking out their card.
