On a Saturday afternoon people come to you for a treat, not for the weekly shop. A cake for four, two éclairs for the walk home, and the Christmas order already going in the book in November. Your loyalty card lives in the customer's phone, it counts what they spend, and it remembers the Sunday regular as well as the one who orders for twenty.
Free, unlimited customers, no bank card. Ready in 15 minutes.
You create your card online and put the poster with its QR code on the counter. The customer scans it once with their camera: the card lands in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, with no app to install. On each visit, you scan their card (or your till does it): stamps or points add up, and the reward unlocks on its own.
In a cake shop, points beat stamps: the amount is what counts, one point per pound spent, one per euro in Ireland, and the reward lands at 100 points. What works best is not money off but a cake of their choice from the counter, the one they never quite dare to add. On Pro, the automatic win-back goes after everyone who has not ordered since the last big occasion.
Credit it at collection, on the full amount: one scan and the card takes the lot. One point that belongs on your order form rather than in Digikart: a deposit is not automatically non-refundable. A term making a customer who cancels pay a disproportionately high sum can be held unfair (Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK, Consumer Rights Act 2022 in Ireland). Keep what covers your real loss.
Points. A stamp counts visits without looking at the amount, and it stays the easiest thing to explain when every receipt looks alike. In a cake shop the gap between a slice and a cake for eight is far too wide for that. On points, the card follows what is spent and everyone moves at their own pace. You set the mode in the “Rewards” tab, and you can change it later.
That is the job of the Pro plan notifications (€49 a month incl. VAT, around £42, billed in euros, everything included). At the end of November a message goes out to every installed card: Christmas orders are open. You reach people who bought from you in June and would never have heard from you again. No SMS to pay for, the message goes through the wallet.
The basic loyalty card is free, with no cap on customers and no commitment. The Pro plan, all inclusive at €49 per month incl. VAT, can be taken whenever you want.
